Two Hawks Pointe II Apartments residents want to end their lease because they are unhappy with the living conditions.
Lizze Bagby emailed KMBC Investigates this week. The college student expressed concerns about water damage on her walls, unlocked screens and windows and material coming out of her bathroom faucet.
She said that mice were entering her apartment, leaving behind droppings. She said she has contacted management about her issues multiple times, but that hasn’t resulted in a satisfactory solution.
Bagby stated that “having to worry about the safety and health of your home is really hard mentally, especially if you are moving away from home.”
Cali Rhodes’ apartment, located near Bagby, also has ceilings that show signs of water damage. Vents, according to her, should be cleaned. She wants the apartment management to quickly fix things in her home.
She said, “I would rather get out now than wait for someone else to move into the house.”
KMBC 9 Investigates went to the Hawks Pointe leasing office on Thursday.
The general manager said to KMBC that he has been working on the complaints of women but refused to make any further comments.
Both women are not satisfied with the way their complaints have been handled. Both women say that the conditions in the room are unacceptable and they want to leave as soon as possible.
Bagby stated, “I do not trust the people who run this place.” Bagby said, “I’m going to raise some hell and let everyone know it’s not okay.”
