A house fire killed the family’s beloved three dogs: Bailey, Max, and Alfie. They were devastated.
Three beloved dogs belonging to a Glasgow-based family were killed in a horrifying house fire.
Gillian Wilson received an alarming phone call while on vacation in Benidorm, Spain last Friday. The Penilee house of her father had burned down.
At the home on Kinsail Drive, three of the nurse’s beloved pets, Bailey (13-15), Max (10), and Alfie (4 years old) were cared for.
Emergency services saved two of the dogs at 4.50 pm, but Bailey died in the bath.
Max and Alfie died a few days after their injury despite all the efforts by vets.
Gillian said to Glasgow Live, “I was at Benidorm during all of this.”
My dad’s neighbor called and said that his house had caught fire. She didn’t realize that the dogs had been inside.
My worst nightmare started in that instant. As I was overseas, I had no idea what was going on.
On Saturday, I returned home and found two dogs that had survived. They were in terrible shape. My dad was burned after trying to enter the house in order to save my dogs. I brought him to hospital.
My dad’s face is scarred and burned from the time he ran in to my house.
“Now we have no dogs, since both dogs that survived got sick.”
Gillian’s daughter and Gillian have had the dogs in their life since they adopted them.
Each of the three will be missed by this 43-year old.
Gillian continued: “They all were rescue dogs.” “.
The eldest, he was calm and tolerable. He was initially quite nervous as he had come from a poor home.
Bailey went to the bathroom to calm himself down when he felt scared. This was his go-to when he felt scared by fireworks, or other things.
He was a loving and gentle dog.
Dogs love cuddling, I don’t agree. Max went absolutely crazy.
Max loved to be cuddled. He was like a little baby. He always howled at my telephone. “If he heard water running he’d run to the shower.”
Alfie is the cheeky person who destroys everything that he sees.
The family’s life has been completely turned upside-down.
After the fire, Gillian’s father has lost most of his possessions and his house.
He moved into his daughter’s home after the traumatizing experience.
The nurse said, “the house is a total loss.” Recently, I visited the home for the first-time and was shocked. “.
Smoke has mostly destroyed the upper floor, while the downstairs is absolutely destroyed. Everything needs to be taken out.
The time was past for saving anything. It was too late to save anything. My dad’s clothes were all that was left.
“He is devastated by the loss of his house and dogs.”
A five-figure bill for vets was imposed on the family due to their care of Alfie and Max.
The 43-year old is trying to get her father back on track after the devastating fire.
Despite this, Penilee has come together to help the family. The crowdfunder that was launched Sunday has reached almost PS2,500, and it is on its way to reaching the PS3,000 goal.
Gillian was completely overwhelmed by the amount of support that she received.
She said, “I’m in awe at the whole community.”
It has been an incredible support. “I receive messages from random strangers all the time offering to help.”
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) responded at 4.48pm, Friday August 11, to reports that a house fire had broken out at Kinsail Drive.
